HAKA dance

A deep, reverberating “Hiiii” is released from the collective lungs of the All Blacks, New Zealand’s national rugby team. The haka dance is more than a show of nationalism or team support; it’s a call to respect and a show of reverence for past and present players, the opposing team, the supporters, the game and New Zealand. It seems to say, “We are strong competitors. Don’t be fooled. But, we recognize you as worthy opponents.”

This is not the first time I’ve seen a haka, but watching them before on TV, I never got a sense of the power this tradition has. For many New Zealanders, it is an emotional moment that rivals that of the national anthem. When the All Blacks finish, my husband and I instinctively pull up our sleeves to reveal the goosebumps covering our forearms.

..... This culture is amazing. I have never seen some culture like this !! They always perform this before competition . It seems to say , they are strong . In Thailand , I think we don't have some culture like this cecause I have never seen this in Thailand. just watch the video that I post !!!

MRTA: Subway is well guarded

MRTA: Subway is well guarded The public can definitely be sure of their security at all subway train stations, Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRT) acting governor Yiamchai Chatkaew said on Tuesday. Mr Yiamsaid was responding to Puea Thai Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit's warning of possible sabotage of the subway train system. He said tight security measures are in place at all subway train stations. All passengers are subject to bag checks. Closed-circuit surveillance cameras have been installed at all stations. Security agencies have not issued any warning of possible sabotage and it was therefore not necessary for the MRTA to ask for support from the military, Mr Yiamchai said. He said passengers can be sure of their safety when using the subway train.

Mr Abhisit extended his congratulations to the students for their success and for the honour they have bestowed on the country.
He said most high school students who were good at maths and science were expected to further their studies in the medical field. This was contributing to the country's shortage of research staff

Tourist attractions in Nakhon Pathom

Phra Pathom Chedi

Phra Pathom Chedi is the tallest stupa in the world with the height of 127 metres (417 ft). It is located in the town of Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. The name Phra Pathom Chedi means Holy chedi (stupa) of the beginning. The stupa at the location is first mentioned in Buddhist scriptures of the year 675, however archaeological findings date back to the 4th century. In the 11th century it was overbuilt with a Khmer (Ancient Cambodia) style prang, which was later overgrown by the jungle. The ruin was visited several times by the later King Mongkut during his time as a monk, and after his coronation he ordered the building of a new and more magnificent chedi at the site. After 17 years of construction it was finished in 1870, and the population of nearby Nakhon Chai Si was ordered to move to the newly created town around the chedi.
